1.Build capacity and effectiveness:
1.1. Our committee will be operating smoothly, and people will have long-range clear notice of upcoming CAC events and activities.
1.2. We will have 10 strongly contributing members of the CAC.
1.3. We will have the support of, and collaboration with the Town Council
1.4. We will have the support of, and collaboration with the Town Staff.
1.5. We have a youth member on the sub-committees of the CAC.
2.Build Community Engagement and Support
2.1. Council has developed a funding plan for Climate Change Mitigation, including serious consideration of adding Staff for this purpose.
2.2. The Meter is active and updated monthly, with content that is interesting and talked about in Fairfax and beyond.
2.3. CAC has held several town-wide meetings.
2.4. ClimateFx.org and mailing lists are up to date and in active use.
2.5. All town channels for official communications are available to promote FXCAC goals.
3.Carbon-Neutral Town Operations
3.1 We will achieve Carbon Neutrality for all Town Operations by June 30, 2021.
3.2 We will implement phase I of a microgrid for the Town Buildings.
4.Double Renewable Energy use in Fairfax
4.1. Get Deep Green participation from 262 to 525 households.
4.2. Raise $6K in support of this effort.
5.Complete Fairfax Climate Action Plan
5.1 The Fairfax 2030 Climate Action Plan will be completed and approved by the Fairfax Town Council by the end of calendar
6.Implement Ordinances
6.1. Pass Tier 2 Cal Green (previously recommended by CAC)
6.2. Pass Marin County Reach Codes Ordinance for Energy (previously recommended by CAC)
6.3. Pass Low-carbon concrete ordinance (if needed)
6.4. Pass vehicle idling ordinance (e.g. Palo Alto)
6.5. Pass ordinance phase-out fossil fuel burning yard equipment, beginning in 2027.
6.6. Pass natural gas phase-out by 2030 as previously discussed by CAC
6.7. Explore ordinance to put fee on gas vehicles.
